Put this comment before archivists who meticulously maintain old equipment and software in order to have access to important material. Perhaps it's because I worked as a documents librarian in my early years that I understand how sickening it is to watch, in the name of misplaced commerce, history slowly but surely being locked away in a software prison. Imagine if Mozart's manuscripts were locked up in Finale 1790, computer intact and functioning, but FabrikMuzik! long gone.
