More the instances, bigger the buffer.  Buffer size is usually determined
by the hardware driver, i.e., built-in is set to 512.  All of pro audio
hardware allows up to 2048.

Before I got G5 Dual-2.5GHz, running sample based virtual instrument on
my lowly Dual-450 was a joke especially before MachFive implemented
streaming.  I was only able to instantiate in real-time one instrument a
time.  Buffer set to 256 was the only acceptable latency.

So, my only choice was to record MIDI track with K2600Rs then reassign
the track to virtual instrument after raising buffer size to 2048.  That
way, I don't need to care the latency :-)
