Hello all,
I am working on a full orchestral score in 3/4 time. Since I have doubled up
instruments on the staves, I occasionally have a measure where one instrument
is completely at rest but the second is playing. Since I am using default
whole measure rests for the entire piece, I need to use a whole measure rest in
the upper part. The program doesn't seem to want to allow me to do that. Can
anyone suggest a way that I can get that whole rest in there? I am using
Finale 2003a on a MAC.
In what way does the program not allow it? If you are using Speedy Entry, and you enter a whole rest (7), you get a message along the lines of "too many beats, what do you want to do?" and you select to ignore it. No problem.
It's even easier if you simply turn off the Check for Extra Notes option in Speedy Entry.
