I know of two other ways to accomplish what you want.
If it were me, I would put the repeat around the first B and C, then simply copy the last B to come afterwards, thus
A ||: B C :|| B
which is certainly the clearest and least confusing way to go, though it takes more paper.
The other way would be to use endings (which play back correctly also) like this
______ ____
A ||: B 1.2. C :|| 3. Fine
If that isn't clear, there is a 1st and 2nd ending over the C section, and the 3rd ending only has a last note in it. If the C section is very long, this might end up being more confusing than my first method, as I don't like to make endings longer than about 8 measures.
Possibly this might work too, though I have no idea about how to make it play back properly, unless you hit Stop manually

If I used a "begin repeat" bar line at the beginning of B, an "end repeat"
bar line at the end of C, that would insure the first B-C repeat. If I also
placed "Fine" at the end of B, and a "D.S. al Fine" at the end of C (to be
recognized only after 2nd playing of C) wouldn't that be both ugly and
confusing?

D.S. al Fine, and place the Fine at the end of the B section. As a target measure for the Fine, in order to get the song to stop, you can either enter 0 or you can enter a number one higher than the number of the final measure.
