Should these be 10 separate Finale files, or one file? Any special
considerations?

I agree with the concensus that there is none on whether a multi-movement work should be one or more than one Finale file. My own personal preference is to use multiple files, one to a movement. but this is informed by the fact that most of my work is with choral music, and there are lyric issues to contend with. I'ts bad enough trying to find the space in the edit lyrics dialogue box when you're trying to find the right point among four subsets (assuming SATB), it would be much more of an issue trying to locate it among forty (ten movements, four voices) subsets of the lyrics space. Also, in the event of an irretrieveably corrupted file, you have to re-do only one tenth of the work, not the whole thing.

IMO, the most important thing is to plan early whether to make the work one file, or more than one. I suspect if one makes the necessary adjustments early on, that there is little more work one way than the other. And in my mind, if one is uncertain, it is easier to start of with one large file, and break it into ten pieces, than to start off with ten small files, and try to merge them together.
