If copying actually worked decently, that wouldn't be much of an
issue, but Finale's copying mechanisms are ridiculously buggy. It's
wonderful that they spent so much time implementing selective
copying, which makes all sorts of great things possible, but they
seem to have neglected making comprehensive copying work.

When you have to use a plug-in to fix clef changes (or do it
manually, which then encounters the clef change bug, where you end up
not being able to apply a mid-measure clef change to certain
measures), and when there is no way at all to ever copy cautionary
accidentals (why does Finale treat my cautionary accidentals so
cavalierly? I made the change, why does it take every opportunity to
undo my manual change?), it really becomes unacceptable.

I am pulling my hair out over the cautionary accidental thing, as
I've dutifully reproduced the accidentals in my original sources, as
preparation for studying what it tells us about their concepts of
tonality (where they considered them necessary, where unneeded), but
now I have to compare bar by bar from my source individual movement
file to my new combined file, and then I'm going to have to do a
complete re-proofreading from the original source.

While it's always good to go back and do that, it's annoying at this
late stage for me to have to do it *yet again*, after having already
done it several times, and this time just because FINALE HAS LOST MY
DATA.
