I don't know about where you are, but humidity plays a big factor. Here in Hawai'i printers that are not in air conditioned environments jam a lot (like the one I have at home). I'm sure the paper finish can be a factor too, but I've never used anything but ordinary copier paper. A dirty printer will also jam. Periodic cleaning with a vacuum is sometimes necessary, depending on the environment and quality of your paper (some brands are dustier than others). Also, the 8150 requires periodic replacement of the rollers and a few other goodies, which come in an 8150 "service kit". If you're halfway decent at following instructions, this can be done by most tool-savvy people, and you can save the service call expense. Usually the printer will alert you when it needs a new service kit, though. The 8150 I believe has an option for a large printer tray, and for a duplexer. Both can add complications to the whole process as the paper path is longer, and there are more ways for it to mess up.
Basically, though: lower the humidity if that might be the problem, clean the printer, ruffle the paper to air it out, and if necessary have the service kit installed if it needs it. Sometimes the printer is just plain cantakerous and wants the paper just so in the tray. In that case, removing the paper, and carefully putting it back in can also *sometimes* help.
I also find that for some brands of paper that "airing" the ream before putting it in the printer can help, as it loosens the paper and makes it easier for the printer to pull the paper through.
Hope this helps.

I have a HP 8150 printer, and too many paper jams when I print to A3 with the duplexer (almost none in A4)! I was thinking of trying a different type of paper and am wondering if heavier paper is more or less prone to jamming.
Thanks,
