Er, no, that does *not* revert to the default spacing -- it changes the formerly-optimized system's margins to replicate the same spacing it had when optimized and dragged.
I haven't got a clue what you are talking about.
Unoptimizing reverts back to the staff spacing in scroll view. Reoptimizing (or switching on "Allow Individual Staff Spacing") will then allow you to start from scratch.
That's the way it has worked for a long time.
