Can you use an Apple Cinema display in rotation?

For now I just set the monitor on its side and prop it up with an old Finale v3.2 box. The angle is just right. I built a macro to take care of the software rotation, but the hardware part is very low tech!

There is a way to remove the stand the monitor comes with and attach one with a rotating hinge. I saw something on this here for around $50 US:
