Finale 2004b on PC: The very last thing I do before printing is I switch to the Smart Shape tool, make sure the entire page is displayed, select all the handles (Control-A), and nudge up (Arrow up) once and then nudge down (Arrow down) once. I do this for every page of the entire document, even if the document is 167 pages long.
Only in this way have I been able to rely on engraver slurs behaving properly.
