i've done this in other contexts, i don't find it so painless, but for so few notes it can be an okay solution. however, (invisible) tuplets are the cleanest way for what you need. the way you have done it can cause potential problems down the road if you ever decide to chromatically transpose/change keys, show all accidentals... and the hidden notes can affect beam height in ways you probably don't want them to.
