If I use special part extraction will all the page formatting, where

Lyric baselines will be retained (even if you have made
system-by-system adjustments in the score with the 3rd-from-the-left
arrow, assuming you don't change the systems in the parts), measures
per system will be retained (but will reflow when you update layout if
you haven't locked systems), basically everything. I don't know what
you mean by nudged staves, but space between systems is identical. It
even retains music spacing, so you will probably want to re-space the
staves that are showing.
I don't know why you would want to retain the same formatting as the
score, but it will be retained. That's usually the first thing I
change, then I retain THAT formatting (most of it) for the succeeding
parts.
I have been using from time to time Brian Williams' method, which he
shared here on the list for us. It is quite quick and efficient if you
need to retain page formatting, such as between 4 trumpets part that
play together most of the time. The real trick is to save the resulting
file under a new name (say, "MyTune flute 1.mus" don't try to use the
SAME file for score and all the parts. True, every file will be a
mostly-identical duplicate of the full score, with only one or two
staves showing, so the file sizes will be large, but only about three
times the size of an extracted part.
If you want to experiment, do so on a copy of your file, so you don't
ruin anything. Play IS the most educational experience, after all (says
my wife, who is completing her Master's in Child Studies right now.)
