thanks for your clarifying answer. I emailed Coda about this and got a
quick respons (quoted below).
I'll probably go ahead and get that card anyway, along with 10.4 and
Fin2k6; every little thing helps, right? : )

The speed improvements are in the software itself. For maximum speed
however, the faster the processor and/or graphics (videocard) the
better.

However, apparently redraw has been revamped somewhat in Fin2k6. So
it's possible that the new version will include graphics card-assisted
redraws. You might consider emailing Coda and asking them about this.
