Godofredo,
Running Software Update should get you the latest version of all
QuickTime components. But are you sure you don't already have
QuickTime Player 7.0.1 on your computer somewhere? Go to System
Preferences -> QuickTime -> Register. It should tell you there which
version is installed.
QuickTime isn't just the player. It's integrated into the guts of OS X
and you can't uninstall it.

This is what happened, this is what I did.
I was running QuickTime pro version 6.5 and downloaded the latest
version, 7.0, of QuickTime Player and when I runned the installer I
received the message that it can not be installed because there is a
newer version running in my machine, in view of this I trashed the old
Player version I had installed and then tried to install the
downloaded version 7.0 in order to be able to purchase the
corresponding new registration key or code , and I kept and keep
getting the same message. This is the reason for asking for the way to
completely uninstall the application because it is obvious that there
lurks , somewhere deep in the dark and secluded catacombs of the
system , some hidden and hideous monstrous code with bloodshed eyes ,
fangs , red wings and pointed tail, laughing and salivating because he
is not going to, never, allow me to install the new version of
QuickTime Pro 7.0...
pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeese... help me...
