What is *“human playback” *(as opposed to gorilla, or what playback?)

It's a relatively new feature in Finale that interprets accents, articulations, glissandos, rits, and the like, and adds more or less appropriate performance practice to the dry and machine-like playback of the bare notes. You can choose from a few different built-in styles in the Playback window. It adds time between the moment you hit Play and the music starts to playback, however, and even then it gets a bit overwrought at times.

Some items, like trills, are surprisingly good, though. The jazz playback style is better than nothing, especially if you keep it at Light Swing.
