Hi all,

I use both Finale and Sibelius. Although the extra steps mentioned here for Sibelius are exaggerated, nevertheless, there is no way that Sibelius can match Finale with the economy of keystrokes that Richard is looking for.

If I were faced with a plethora of fingerings (or anything else for that matter) in a Sibelius project, I would make use of one of Sibelius' major strengths, which is its copy facility: select a nearby fingering and right click

You mean "chord-click" right, Dan? L-R click simultaneously. "Copy with mouse" has to be checked in Prefs, it should be mentioned. I agree this is a great feature, I wish it was universal!

Yes, actually I meant "wheel-click" on my Microsoft trackball, which I find easier that chording (I have the same problem playing the piano).

Finale allows the creation of a shortcut for each individual
fingering.

But I do think I wouldn't mind the step of typing the fingering
number, were it not for the extra steps.
