Well, why do you want to *not* save the content with the document? If 
it's because you want dynamic updating of the content, you've got 
that. If it's because you want to reduce file size, then I question 
why you'd consider it a problem. The bandwidth of a LAN and the size 
of today's hard drives really makes this quite irrelevant. If one's 
concern is emailing or uploading the files, then I can see why you'd 
want smaller files, but files with only links would be completely 
useless on the other end.
