This does work, but after all the fussing required, it's probably easier just to extend the beams and adjust the angle manually. Thanks for your help, though. I really, really want a non-document wide setting for beam extensions over rests! Another little extra that might be nice to have is an elapsed minutes/seconds readout during playback, though I might be one of very few to actually find this useful. Of course, much higher on my personal wish list is that certain bugs that I've reported to MakeMusic be fixed, including longstanding bugs in the MIDI tool, and the cross-layer accidental positioning bug that cropped up in 2004b (I'm still on 2004a because of that one).
