What is the word for ‘identical word- different meaning’ e.g. tie,
(equal score in game, or neckwear) bolt, (door fastener, run away)
Is there a word for same spelling, different meaning and pronounciation-
e.g. lead (heavy metal, dog restraint, past tense of verb to lead)
With flame resistant suit in place.- cheers
No need for a flame resistant suit on my behalf -- we may be a Finale
group but we are also (I hope) a family of friends and can ask such
questions when our curiosity is piqued, in my opinion.
I don't know of any special name for the multiple use of a single word.
I do know that, at least around my part of the world, homonyms are being
renamed to homophones in many schools.
If the flames come, be sure to include me in them!
