I can't answer the question about PS fonts, but I can tell you that the Sibelius help engine, which is Java-based, is one of the worst Java applets I've ever seen. I am told that the reason they chose a Java applet for delivering help was because it's cross-platform, but I think it's really dreadful. I had trouble with it, too. My default browser is a recent release of Mozilla, and when I first tried to launch the demo help from Sibelius, nothing happened. It started loading Java and never finished. I then took the file name it was opening and pasted it into Firefox, which was able to load it. What I discovered through experimentation was that it works much better if you load Java *first* before invoking the help. Of course, the Sibelius Demo Help is all but worthless, anyway. It may help someone who's never used a music notation program, but it won't give much in the way of assistance to a Finale user evaluating it. I found particularly helpful the "getting started" page that is in the "welcome" email that you get when you download the demo. Unfortunately, I've now deleted the email and can't find that page (and it's scrolled out of my browser history). In any event, I conveyed my enormous dissatisfaction with the Sibelius help engine (and with the content of the demo help) to Daniel Spreadbury. He took my comments under advisement.
