Wow, another confirmed sighting of this.

For this record, this delay occurs on both my Mac systems
Mac Mini 1.42Gigahertz with 1 gig ram running off a 7200RPM firewire drive (disabled the internal drive)
Quicksilver 933 with 1.5 gigs of ram, running on a 7200RPM drive.

Both with 10.4.2 and all the latest updates. Drives defragged regularly with http://www.speedtools.com/.

P.S. What about the textured paper? This was announced as one of the new
major features. I haven't read many comments ;-).

Actually, the textured paper is pretty cool. I thought it was kind of
a silly addition, but it really makes the music easier to work with.
The contrast involved when the page is solid bright white onscreen was
more difficult for my eyes than I even realized before I used the new
texture. Definitely not worth $100 all by itself, but I find the
textured paper does add immensely to the overall "feel" of the
program.

In addition, EPS export is lightning-fast in Finale 2006 (on Mac,
anyway). The Font Warning dialog is still there, but each page takes
only a fraction of a second to create (as opposed to the 45-60 seconds
it took in Finale 2005). And with my FinaleScript/QuicKeys solution to
EPS exporting, I exported EPS files from 26 Finale documents
(resulting in a total of 46 EPS files) in about 20 minutes. And that's
counting modifying the macro and script to work with Finale 2006.

Also, I'd like to add that I'm experiencing the Mass Edit lag as well.
I'm on a 1GHz G4 with 1.25GB of RAM running OS 10.3.9. In addition to
the Mass Edit lag, there's a lag with dragging. When I create
selection boxes in the Expression or Text tools (for example), I can
click and start draggin, but there's a noticeable delay before the box
shows up. Additionally, dragging elements don't update immediately. If
I click an expression and move it a bit, there's some lag before it
"jumps over" to the new cursor position. In both situations, once the
short (.5sec or so) delay occurs, everything else happens in realtime.
