On my dual G5 2.5GHz (1.5GB OS X 10.4.2), I too see a slight delay
(like .5 seconds) when selecting measures, but ***only in Page
View***. There is an even more noticeable delay (.75-1 seconds) when
drag-selecting a region in Page View.
The delay is close, but not quite as bad to that of selecting about 4
or more hairpins and nudging them - an annoyance from 2004 that has
yet to really be dealt with satisfactorily, IMO. I do music with a
lot of careful dynamic markings, and I have to tweak them all the
time. Does anyone know if MM has really done anything substantial to
address the speed issues that blew up in the long-overdue
FinMac2004? I remember talk about how the program should be Cocoa
(in my lifetime?) and rewritten, instead of just adding code with
each version. I would have paid for this upgrade if there were no
new features at all, but was rewritten, cleaned up (both platforms),
etc., and optimized for OS X - even though I doubt many would pay the
usual upgrade price for that sort of thing.
