and pass through the same note in a florid passage on another, the

Yes, you're right, I hadn't thought of that.
The real answer to his original problem was mentioned by David Fenton,
that of using separate channels as he had it (which would prevent the
problem you mention) but using non-printing expressions on each staff
where the desired effect should be used on all three staves.
