As far as I understood, Hiro didn't want to install FinGPO on that
particular machine. I assume (though I don#t know) that Ambience is part
of the FinGPO part of the installation, and therefor didn't get installed.

The Ambience plugin is installed when you install Finale 2006. As far

at all, because pretty much everyone who installs Finale 2006 already
has it. It's more likely that Hiro has the newest version installed
(1.0.5), and the Finale 2006 default files don't recognize that version
of Ambience for some reason.

This is a problem with the Fin2006 default file not recognizing the
latest version (1.0.5) of the Ambience Reverb plugin. There will
be a new default files posted to the MakeMusic website soon that
solve this problem. Meanwhile, if you want reverb, you can
temporarily replace v.1.0.5 of Ambience with version 1.0, at least
until the new default files are ready.
Files imported from Finale2005 don't have this problem -- they have
no trouble seeing and using Ambience 1.0.5. So another solution is
to import your Fin2005 default file and use it to replace the
provided 2006 default file.
