If you have AU/VST instruments loaded, there is often a ridiculously long lag between hitting cmd-P and the actual print dialog showing up -- up to 3-4 minutes for large scores! In the meanwhile, the computer looks like it's hanging -- first, it's completely unresponsive, leaving you unable to switch apps or do anything else, and then you get the spinning beach ball of doom. Finally, 3-4 minutes later, the print dialog appears.

This is, needless to say, a pretty serious problem, especially since there is currently no way to dump AU/VST instruments from memory but preserve the configuration. In Fin2005, if memory was running tight, you could always save your GPO Studio config and then quit, freeing up a ton of memory. But in Fin2006, there is no such option -- if you want to unload your GPO instruments to save memory (like say, when editing or printing), you will have to re-load them all manually if you ever want GPO playback again.

I would encourage everyone who's concerned about this to write to [EMAIL PROTECTED] or [EMAIL PROTECTED] In addition to fixing this rather serious printing bug, there also needs to be a one- step process to load/unload GPO instruments from memory without causing Finale to forget your configuration.
