It's unquestionably a Mac-specific issue, and I've often wondered 
exactly the same thing. 

I imagine you are right about this, David.

Some things are nice on Macs, and some on PC's.  I am used to this platform and unlikely to change, but I certainly recognize that there are advantages to the "other" system as well.
