I reinstalled - I hope I did all that was required pre Darcy's instructions. I had removed the preference file from the preferences library, and the MM file from the application support library.
Darcy sent me back a copy of the troublesome file which I had sent him. He had no trouble with it, but as soon as I opened it on my machine, the same situation occurred. So it must be my system.
Also, strangely, Maestro is suddenly not showing up in Finale's font list if I use the data check to swap old Petrucci symbols for Maestro, and I am flummoxed.
