Chuck,
It may be that PI Eng. hasn't updated their site or whatever, which is
egregiously strange, considering the issue. Here is a copy of the
email they sent me, with a link.
I haven't looked into it any further since I'm still on Panther and in
the middle of another huge project. So, if it ain't brokeā¦
Anyway, here's the gist:
Thank you for your patience as Apple has resolved the Tiger 10.4
issue. Apple has been very helpful in identifying this issue and has
released a fix. The fix is conveniently included within the 10.4.3
update. This updated version of Tiger 10.4 should fix the problem,
but as a precaution, please reinstall the Macro works software from
the setup CD you received with your X-key. You could also download
the Macro Works software from the following link:

ll.dmg
Once again, thank you for your patience, if you have any questions or
concerns please feel free to contact our tech support team.
Best regards,
- P.I. Engineering Technical Support Team

Checked the site - apparently not. Just a warning and a note that
indicates that they are working on it. If it eventually gets fixed,
I'll be happy. It's only a workflow issue, not a work stopper, by any
means (though I wasted most of yesterday stewing over it), and this
kind of thing usually gets resolved. Can't imagine that PI
engineering can afford not to solve the problem, or they lose too many
sales.

Thanks so much. I'll look there. Since I just got this smaller
X-keys keyboard, and it shipped with what I thought was a current
software CD, I had assumed it was up to date.
Hey Chuck,
As I told Dean earlier, I *never* install a device driver from the CD
without checking the vendor's website for a more recent version. No
matter how recently you bought the product, there is almost always a
newer version available. This is especially true when you are
running a recently-released OS, like Tiger.
Hopefully there's an update that fixes your problem.
