Do you mean a file that includes EPS files inside as graphics?

Yes.

I ask that because in my Panther system Finale exports perfect PDF files from the print dialog. I mean they are vector graphics based, not bitmap.

Sure. It is only included EPS files that don't render. Instead the preview prints. As far as I know that is a known fact for Panther.

Also if I export a page to EPS (using the graphics tool) and open it with Preview it also renders to vector graphics...

Correct. That is also the workaround for getting included EPS files to render correctly.

My question is whether included EPS files in a Finale document render correctly in PDFs produced directly through the print dialog. This does not work in Panther, but does it work in Tiger?

I do know it works if printed to PS file and this PS file is then feeded through Preview.

It is quite likely, because Tiger has had improvements to EPS handling. In Fin2k6 the problem of fonts not being included in EPS files is only solved for Tiger, but not for Panther. Of course, Fin2k6 produces broken EPS files if they inlcude certain smart shapes, so this improvement is of very limited value (or is this not a problem in Tiger?).
