Aha!

It's very annoying when features switch between menus for no apparent reason, especially when one of the included S&R FinaleScripts says:

//Text Search and Replace, also called TSAR, is a one of FinaleScript's more
//powerful features.

//NOTE: TSAR is also available as a separate Plug-in in Plug-ins-->Miscelleneous

And <http://finalemusic.com/finale/plugins.aspx> lists this with the other plugins.

Yes, I know now that I went looking for it that the manual says it's under Edit, but it would be nice if Makemusic could be more consistent about such things.

Aaron.

You want consistency from Finale? These days? If it ain't attached to GPO, we're lucky it's still in the program. At least that's what it seems.

Having Text Search and Replace in the Edit menu makes perfect sense. The question isn't why it's in that menu, but rather why did it have to wait until plug-in technology came along, and even then why was it in the Plug-in menu at all, when it's clearly an Edit menu function (at least in practically every other Windows program I've ever used.)

I have a feeling that since FinaleScript has been very underwhelmingly received (at least it hasn't drawn much attention except from a couple of devoted users) Makemusic gave it no thought other than to make sure that it should work in 2006 and simply copied the 2005 scripts over.
