When I get to the point of dragging the handle on the accidental, the handle and the accidental do not move. Instead, a second handle appears where the relocated accidental should be. I selected the second handle. Now I have two black handles in view, one at the accidental and one where it should be. CTRL-D causes the second handle to disappear.

I gave up trying to use the published procedure. I deleted the deleted flat entered originally in Speedy and entered a flat as an articulation and spaced it as required.

If you want playback to work properly, don't forget you can still enter the flat in Speedy and hide it with the * key.
