It may not only be Sony CDs - I recall having a problem after I
foolishly allowed a *Copy Controlled* EMI CD (Norah Jones "Feels Like
Home": Deluxe Edition - CD+DVD) to play/install on my PC
(unfortunately I can't remember exact details). I remember my sound
card (M-Audio Audiophile 2496) mysteriously stopped working (i.e. no
sound - reinstall of drivers failed to fix it) and I had to use Win
XP System Restore to return my system to good heath.
The only indication on the Cd sleeve that problems may occur was:
"This disc contains Copy Control technology... on some equipment, for
example car CD players playback problems may be encountered"

In order to have any effect in the marketplace, you need to tell Sony
about your decision, don't just tell your friends.
