Rubbish. If the DLL is from a compatible version of Windows, it should work. In any event, it's obviously *not* a DLL that's needed for Win98 to boot, since it's not there in the first place, so you're not replacing an existing DLL. Secondly, DLLs in the %SYSTEM% folder are not automatically loaded by Windows -- that's just a central storage location within the OS's file space. So there's virtually no possibility that it would cause the system not to boot, as it wouldn't be called until the point at which an application made a call to a function in that DLL. If it didn't work, it would only cause Finale to crash on load, seems to me. In any event, were the system *not* to boot, all you'd need do is delete the offending file and reboot. If Virtual PC doesn't provide access to the Windows filesystem from the Mac, you can hit F8 during the early Windows boot process and get to a menu that allows you to go to a command prompt, then CD \Windows\System32 and DEL [name of offending DLL]. -- David W.
