Fontographer is unfortunatelly very "old fashioned" program and I strongly recomend FontLab. Fontalb is like Swiss knife for font designing and is worthy every money. If you need any cheaper program for fonts Font Creator Program ( at http://www.high-logic.com/ ) will be very good.
