Well, surely you can set up a free account on this page: http://www.royalmail.com/portal/rm and look up the postal code yourself. The US version of the same thing is here: http://zip4.usps.com/zip4/welcome.jsp and doesn't require you to register (can't imagine why the Royal Mail requires it -- makes no sense at all). -- David W.
