It occurred to me that there might be an email list, or newsgroup
targeted at small publishers, giving them a forum on which to discuss
issues ranging from hardware and software selection, to intellectual
proporety issues, to marketing, but when I went to look for such a
list,
I did not find one.
Therefore, I intend in the near future to establish such a list, and
invite those who have interests in these areas, and would be interested
in participating in such a list to contact me.
Sure, why not. Two issues though:
1) If the list is to be devoted to all small publishers, it will be
totally dominated by publishers of books and 'zines. Music publishers
will be swamped in the glare, and the numerous special issues that we
have (no ISBNs, for example) will be lost.
2) Self-publishers and small publishers are two different things. The
latter will shy away from the proposed list if it identifies itself
with the former.
