I think the original question was for notation of false fingerings not

Yes, it was, but since the example is not fast (half notes at an up
swing tempo) my solution is workable, though perhaps not exactly the
effect he needs.
Chuck mentioned that perhaps giving the lead to a tenor after all would
work, and I would definitely endorse that solution in this context.
False fingerings are always touchy because they don't exist for every
note on the instrument. His voicing is touchy for tuning, too, with a
semitone, a major seventh, and two tritone intervals, so he would want
the players to be able to dig in comfortably.
For those who care, his voicing is from top down in concert pitch
starting above middle C:
Bb, G, D, Db, Ab
Referring to my Michael Brecker transcription book (published by Hal
Leonard), false fingerings are a + sign in that book.
An o is used for overtones
An s enclosed in a circle is for a split tone altissimo note
And a circle with a slanted line through it (a 1/2 dim symbol) is used
to notate a cracked note.
This sounds more like it. I think I must have misunderstood my pal.

I have this on good authority...
While there is no convenient alternate fingering like the 4th line C
has applicable to the upper G, there is another method.
Finger a low (middle) C, and the G a 12th higher is an easy-to-play
(for a pro) harmonic. It would be notated as a middle C with the G
added a 12 higher, and an X over the note. This notation seems a bit
wonky to me, as I would have expected diamond heads or a circle
instead, but apparently this is common notation.
I don't know whether you are going to get the same effect using this
method. Maybe alternating the two altos (G-E-G-E against E-G-E-G)
would be a truer representation of what Lester actually did (is this
Lester Leaps In? I heard it today in a jury examination, so it's
fresh in my brain.)
