Yes and no. I see what you're saying, and I don't disagree with you, but in my case I guess it is a small extra step. The things I do generally don't have large-scale revisions, just accumulations of small corrections, and every now and then I find it beneficial to re-extract the parts. When this happens, it's nice to still have an up-to-date parts score so that I don't need to recreate cues, etc. before extracting. I could probably change my pattern so that I don't keep the parts score around, but for now this works for me.
