I just really believe that of the programs I've used, Finale does have an excellent index and manual. If I can't figure it out, I can refer to the manual and find it. Sometimes you have to rethink what you are asking for, or what it is called, but I have yet NOT to find what I was looking for in the Finale index/manuals.

One serious omission, or at least deficiency, in the Finale manual used to be the pages dealing with lyrics.. It is trivially easy for someone to wreak havoc on the lyrics (case in point: open a file containing lyrics, and delete the fourth syllable in the lyrics block using the "edit lyrics" window, and see what happens when you close the window), and the manual does not give the slightest hint that this can cause a problem. I also find the parts about defining articulations and expressions for playback to be poorly explained. There are a couple of other topics that I feel are inadequately covered, but I don't remember what they are at the moment; doubless they will occur to me as soon as I log off.
