Hi Simon, About a year ago Darcy notified us here on the list of the donationware Screen Spanning Doctor, which I never tried because I had been told by Apple that the iMac only supported mirroring in a second monitor. An extended desktop was one of my requirements for the new machine I was going to buy but I would have bought the iMac G5 if I had heard about this software a few months earlier. I went with the PowerPC over the iMac because of its extended desktop capability.
Anyway, here's a couple of links I found so you can check it out: http://www.macworld.com/weblogs/editors/2004/10/imacscreenspanning/index.php http://www.rutemoeller.com/mp/ibook/ibook_e.html I hope this helps.
