I told the oboe joke – (received from Finale earlier this week) to my concert band. I did the same thing to a group of oboe players last night - when I
delivered the punchline there was not a smile, not a titter, nothing, no
response, until after a longer pause than was respectable one of them
said, "Ah, it's a joke is it?"
This is why horn players don't get on with oboists.
