Mac OS 10.3, FinMac 2K4.
I recently received some fonts and installed them. They now appear in
Font Book, but refuse to appear in Finale's font list, no matter what
font collection I put them in. Font Book shows them as enabled.
I need to use these for a rush job, so immediate help is urgently
requested!
It's a little hard to diagnose this without seeing it (and I usually do
this stuff by following my nose in any case) but I will give it a try.
First, reboot the computer, then check Finale again.
If not, then check other apps, does the font show up there? If so, then
I am at a loss in this particular case. Maybe use Data Check, but I
haven't had much success with it.
If not, which is more likely, then some things may have gone wrong in
the installation process. Did you install it "for all users of this
computer?" If not, reinstall it that way, then reboot and check again
(there are three or four different places fonts can go in OSX). Does
the font show up correctly in Font Book? If not, it may be corrupt. You
know that in OS X, you can install PC fonts as is, with no need to
install a Mac version, which is what you had to do in OS 9? Some older
Mac fonts don't work well in OS X and require a conversions of some
sort, but I have no information about these.
Maybe some others have more info. Hope this helps.
