Michael suggested the Notehead position tool, which works; the Note
shape tool (the one with an "x" notehead) works too. The same dialog
box is apparently used for both. The principal difference I see between
the two is that the notehead position tool allows manipulation of the
notehead with the mouse, while the notehead shape tool does not.
