I almost never need to touch the power switch on my mini. Once you've got it up and running, you will rarely need to turn it off. Power usage during sleep mode is barely more than leaving the computer plugged in with the power off -- and, of course, if you're using it as a media center computer, the instant-wake-from-sleep is vastly preferable to waiting for a cold boot.
