I haven't read any reasons given by Microsoft as to why they deprecated
MDI, but I've always been aware that MDI was multi-monitor hostile and
figured it must have been a factor. I've been advocating the switch to
SDI for Finale for more than 10 years, precisely because of multiple
monitors. (You see how much they've listened.)

I wonder if that's why Microsoft switched gears from MDI and went to SDI?
