Hmm. My music history class was listening to Cowell's "The Banshee" this afternoon. Do you happen to know how its pitches are notated? And do you consider Shoenberg's Sprechtstimme music? Would you change your mind if he had used x-notes to indicate relative pitches.
It is performance art.
I still maintain that there is no such thing, but if you enjoy the euphony of the words, enjoy them! Just don't look for semantic content.
