I was recording an opera in the C.R. -- the bass singer (leading role)
on break for lunch takes a swig from his drink and bam! -- a wasp nails
him right on the lower lip -- immediate swelling with commensurate
lisp. At this point every singer opens their bag and a pharmacopeia
emerges. They had pills for everything, including bee bites
(antihistamine). I could not believe that anyone of them made it
across an international border without being stopped and sundries
confiscated.

Might as well get even more off topic ;-)
When I was in the Army Band in Germany (late 60's), we used to play at
a lot of "football" games.
We had this show where we marched onto the field for the first number
without our trumpet soloist.
For the second number (the trumpet solo), he would come rushing onto
the field, as though he was late to practice, carrying a sousaphone
case.
With great difficulty, he would open the sousaphone case and take out
a piccolo trumpet.
Then we would do the "Flight of the Bumblebee".
