Well, I don't know what size the batteries the various cordless mice use, but assuming they are AA, or AAA, one alternative to the rechargeable mouse would be to use rechargeable batteries. I bought rechargeable alkalines ten or eleven years ago, when they came out, and since rechargeable alkalines are difficult to find, at least in retail establishments these days, the new rechargeable NIMH batteries seem to be working satisfactrilly. Since 1996, I have purchased fewer than 50 AA, and 25 AAA batteries.
