On an added note, I am not a violinist, but the effect (in measure 18 beat one) of the inner quarter note might be quite striking. I had to puzzle over it for a minute, as I could not figure out how it would be fingered,

4 3 0 in first position, moving from 3 3 1 in first position at the end of bar 17.

but then realised that the D is played on the D string way up the neck.

???????? I can't make sense out of this. Playing the D as a harmonic with the open A and E strings would be possible, but there's no good reason to do so. The decision the performer would have to make in either case is whether to hold the D for its full value, in which case the E in the upper voice would have to be played in the same bow, or whether to end it early so that the E could be taken as a clean up-bow up-beat without the sound of the D.

It seems to me too, that measure 6 downbeat must be hard to play properly. But maybe to a violinist this is very easy?

4 4 3 2 resolving to 1. Not very easy--in fact a bit awkward--but not a real problem. It makes a difference, too, whether you are trying to scrunch the chords or opening them up to a graceful arpeggiation as was probably the intent.
