I just tried it with expression, which works well. I even created the square bracketed accidental in the expression designer, but unfortunately those take a lot of space, and the Tracking option doesn't seem to work with Maestro. Not sure why.

A better method is to use the shape designer to place the brackets very close to the accidental. It requires a lot of fiddling due to the poor tools in the shape designer, but works well when done accurately.

Articulations work equally well, naturally one has to use the shape designer.

I am not sure which is better. Personally I would prefer expressions not to be taken into account when applying music spacing, so that would be an arguement to use articulations (not sure whether I get into situations where they influence the music spacing otherwise).
